Principal’s Message

Dear Parents, Students, and Community Members,

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

It is a great privilege for me to step into the role of Principal at Green Dome Islamic School. This year marks a new chapter for our school community, and I am deeply excited about the journey we are embarking on together. Green Dome is more than just a school -it is a place where faith and learning come together to help our children grow not only in knowledge, but also in character.

One of the things that makes Green Dome special is the way we combine Alberta’s strong academic curriculum with an education rooted in Islamic values. Our goal is for every child to excel in their studies while also building a firm foundation in faith, respect, and compassion. With the support of dedicated teachers, innovative approaches to learning, and individualized attention, we aim to help each student discover and reach their full potential.

We are also proud to offer meaningful programs in Quranic Arabic and Islamic Studies, guided by experienced Quran teachers who ensure students connect to the words of Allah (SWT) with accuracy and love through proper Tajweed. This balance between academic excellence and spiritual development is at the heart of who we are as a school.

Alhamdulillah, none of this would be possible without the hard work of our staff, the trust of our parents, and the guidance of our Board. Your support and involvement are what allow Green Dome to thrive. Together, we are building more than classrooms — we are shaping a community where students feel grounded in their faith and prepared for the future.

As principal, my commitment is to serve our families with sincerity, transparency, and care. InshaAllah, with your continued partnership, Green Dome Islamic School will grow into a place where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to contribute positively to both our Ummah and wider society.

I look forward to working with you all and to a year filled with growth, learning, and blessings.

Warmly,

Noreen Bashir

Our Partnerships

Small Schools Preparing Students for Big Futures • Prairie Land Schools serve as true community hubs, encompassing ten community schools, three online schools, and eleven Hutterite Colony schools. With a focus on academic success, personal growth, and student well-being, the division supports up to 4,000 students across a vast geographical area.

Known for dedicated staff, well-maintained facilities, and engaged students, Prairie Land fosters a welcoming and supportive learning environment. The Central Office is located in Hanna, Alberta, and the division was established in 1995 through the merger of four smaller districts—Berry Creek, Neutral Hills, Rangeland, and Starland—to enhance efficiency in governance and administration.

Al Madina Calgary Islamic Centre (AMCIA) is a vibrant community hub dedicated to serving the spiritual, educational, and social needs of Calgary’s Muslim community. The centre offers daily prayers, Quran classes, Islamic education programs, and community services, fostering a strong sense of faith and unity. AMCIA also organizes youth programs, family support initiatives, and interfaith outreach, striving to promote Islamic values while engaging positively with the broader society.
