Green Dome Islamic School Uniforms
Beginning this fall, Green Dome Islamic School will transition from our traditional blue and white uniforms to a fresh green design that better reflects our school identity, growth, and vision for the future. This change marks an exciting new chapter in our journey as a school community, and we look forward to seeing our students proudly represent Green Dome Islamic School in their new uniforms.

To ensure uniforms arrive before the start of the school year, families are strongly encouraged to place their orders by July 20, 2026. Orders submitted by this date will allow sufficient time for processing and delivery before students return to school
Footwear requirements:
All students are required to have:
One pair of indoor shoes
One pair of outdoor shoes
Indoor shoes must:
Have white, non-marking soles
Be suitable for daily classroom activities and physical education
Be comfortable, closed-toe athletic shoes that can remain at school throughout the year
The following are not permitted as indoor footwear:
Dress Shoes
Slippers
Sandals
Crocs
Shows with black or marking soles
These requirements help maintain our facilities and ensure a safe learning environment for all students

All uniform orders must be placed by July 20, 2026 for the first round. Since the uniforms are custom made, orders received after this date cannot be guaranteed for delivery before the start of the school year.

Yes. As Green Dome Islamic School is a faith-based alternative program, wearing the approved school uniform is a requirement for all students.

Kindergarten to Grade 4: No. The gym uniform is optional.
Grades 5 to 8: Yes. Students are required to purchase and wear the approved gym uniform on their scheduled PE days.
Your child's classroom teacher will let you know which days Physical Education (PE) takes place. Students are expected to wear their gym uniform on their designated PE days only.

Yes. Every student must have:

Short-sleeve polo/ Long-sleeve polo/ Dress shirt with the school vest (all must have the school logo)

Girls in Kindergarten to Grade 4 wear:
Green uniform pants/ Matching green jumper with the school logo

Girls in Grades 5 to 8 wear:
Three-quarter length school abaya/ Matching green pants/ Approved grey school hijab

Kindergarten to Grade 3: Optional.
Grade 4 and above: Mandatory.
Students who wear a hijab must wear the approved plain grey school hijab purchased through our uniform supplier. Hijabs with lace, beads, decorative trim, patterns, or other colours are not part of the school uniform.

No. Hoodies are optional. However, if a student chooses to wear a hoodie at school, it must be the approved Green Dome Islamic School hoodie purchased through the uniform supplier.

No. Only the approved Green Dome hoodie or uniform items may be worn during the school day.

Because uniforms are custom made, orders placed after the deadline cannot be guaranteed for the first day of school. We strongly encourage families to order as early as possible to avoid delays.

Yes. Students are expected to arrive on the first day of school wearing the complete approved school uniform.

Parent Volunteer
Without parent volunteers, many field trips would not be possible. If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the following steps. Your support is greatly appreciated!
1. To volunteer at Green Dome Islamic School, you must first provide a recent Police Record Check. To obtain one, please contact the front office to receive a letter that allows you to get the Record Check at a reduced fee. This is a mandatory step in accordance with school policies and provincial regulations.
Additionally, please complete the Green Dome Islamic School Volunteer Form (linked—please download, complete, and send back to greendome.islamicschool@plrd.ab.ca).
2. Become a member of the School Council. Please contact the council at greendome.sc@gmail.com
Volunteer Security Clearance Process

Prospective volunteers must first register as a volunteer at the school.
This should be done by clicking on the Online Forms in the Parents tab and completing the Volunteer Registration form. You can also submit an application through the school office.
Contact the school office to provide you with a letter enabling you to obtain a police information check from the Calgary Police Service (CPS).
Note: prospective volunteers must reside in Canada for a full year before registering. Police clearances from countries other than Canada are not accepted.

Visit the CPS online system, electronic Police Information Check (ePIC), or in person, to obtain your police check using your volunteer letter. This letter will allow you to get the Record Check at a reduced fee. This is a mandatory step in accordance with school policies and provincial regulations.
If a volunteer submits their own payment, there is no option for a refund. There is no refund option for volunteers who have previously submitted applications.

Once you have received your clearance document from CPS you will need to share it with the school in-person or by email.
